Tomatoes

From my balcony. I’ve got loads of bunches which are slowly turning red. I’ve picked a few, they are really nice.

Ain’t nothin’ going on but the rent.

It’s been quite a while since the last update. We’ve been down a few times, but there’s not been much to do except eat Courgettes and more recently, lettuce. I planted a load of Endive which has done surprisingly well.

The squash and cucumber didn’t make it. The weather turned cold and there was a touch of frost once or twice. All the leaves had browned off and died and there was no more growth. There was one little squash and when I touched it it fell off. Im sure I heard it groan.

Had to pay the rent and cash for the manure last week, so we are all set up for next year. We get a ton of poo in a few weeks, so we’ve got to make a concerted effort to dig the rest of the plot over before the frosts arrive.

We have no piped water until April next year as some vandals broke in and nicked all the standpipes. Moira pointed out they’ve probably done it for the copper, and strangely the only standpipe left is the one next to the blokes plot who Moira accused of being a thief…

We’ve dug over the ground we used this year and I made a start on the next bit, digging up a few bewildered frogs in the process.
